My poor, poor fridge. It's been a busy summer and I just haven't stayed up on keeping it cleared out. I knew it was past time to clean out the fridge because I am desperately missing my leftover containers!
Today I tackled the fridge situation and this is what I found:
1 jar of sweet potato baby food
1 vanilla yogurt from May
1 container of rice
1 small container of pineapple
1 small container of black beans
2 small containers of leftovers
1 small container of ranch
1 stalk of celery
I'll spare you the picture.
Okay ladies, now I need some accountability! Next week I want to cut my little waste list at least in half. I would like to see it completely gone, but I know it is something I just need to slowly work on.
I know that joining the ladies over at Frugal Girl's Food Waste Friday should help immensely. This week it helped to know that I will be heading on over to downtown Salt Lake's Farmer's Market. Kind of excited to check that out! The farmer's markets in Utah Valley tend to be smaller so I am hoping for lots of goodies when I head up north. Especially since I am participating in The Lean Green Bean's foodie pen pal event this month. I'll be sending some local food yummies to Jami at the Cobalt Kitchen in Michigan.
How did your food waste Friday go?
What is the hardest thing for you to use up before it goes bad?
Have you ever had a pen pal?
That's funny. You know it's time to clean out your refrigerator when you have run out of leftover containers. Looks like you've got a clean slate to start with next week.
ReplyDeleteThat is one good looking fridge! Mine always looks neat and tidy because by Friday it's empty, but it's good to see a packed fridge can be organised.
ReplyDeleteDon't be too hard on yourself Tara - onwards and upwards eh? Keep moving forward ;-)
