Kiwi, Banana, Orange Smoothie


This morning I had planned on making this yummy Avocado Smoothie from Whole Family Fare. Totally bummed when my avocados weren't quite ripe and seriously disappointed because I was looking forward to a smoothie this morning. At that moment in my mind no avocados and no frozen fruit (beyond a few frozen banana bites) = no smoothies.

Enter light bulb moment. The beauty of smoothies is you can put anything in them! So I decided to try out my own little concoction and came up with this yummy dazzler ... honestly the most refreshing smoothie I have had!

Kiwi Banana Orange Smoothie

4 kiwis
half frozen banana
1 ripe banana
2 small spoonfuls of orange juice concentrate
4 ounces coconut water
cup of ice
handful of spinach

Blend and enjoy! So next time you are bemoaning not having the right ingredients ... step out on a limb and try something of your own. I am thinking that I will experiment with adding some type of protein next time. It was nice to use up my kiwis (I've never loved eating them as is ) and also my spinach that was starting to wilt. Added bonus is that my kiddos enjoyed their "Shrek Juice!"
